What You Need to Know about Paintball Bunkers
Paintball bunkers fall into two major categories – the homemade kind and the inflatable kind. The former is self explanatory, while the latter is the one that you can readily buy online or at any retail outlet.
Paintball bunkers has become a trend these days because of the simple reason that they do not mess up the paintball field the way bunkers made out of found materials like corrugated cardboards do. Inflatable paintball bunkers are portable and will allow you to design the paintball field you will be playing in any location.
However, some people would still think that part of the fun in organizing a paintball game is designing the field using bunkers that are constructed out of crude materials (almost any kind of material will do to make a decent, homemade paintball bunker). You can construct paintball bunkers from towers of tires or stacks of barrels. Paintball bunkers can be made out of simple plywood, logs, mounds of dirt, piles of sandbags, old garbage cans and big recycling containers. If the paintball field that you have is more permanent, you can make paintball bunkers out of old car carpets, old holding tanks, and anything that is fiberglass and is able stand firmly upright.
As long as it is big and wide enough to allow a player to hide behind it, almost anything can be used to make your own paintball bunker. But, anything from live nature like a hollow tree or a large rock is not advisable. Not because it will not work as fine, but because it is a bad ecological practice. Mother Nature is already taking enough hits from people, so she does not need any splashes of paint to add to it.
You can use wooden logs to create a sort of a series of more permanent paintball bunkers. Logs can be very attractive without costing a lot. Logs are also very sturdy, so you do not end up with a paintball field that looks like a salvage scrap mess. But there is one disadvantage in using logs in the field – it is not that portable and you might end up hauling a lot of logs around just to play a single game or speedball or hyperball.
In playing speedball or hyperball, the concept is to keep things interesting by constantly changing the course. This is where the use of inflatable paintball bunkers come in handy and can be a great asset to your game.
There are lot of kinds of inflatable paintball bunkers that you can buy on the internet and at different retail outlets. Depending on the brand, the size, and the material, the price runs from about $70.00 to $200 each piece.
