What is a good brand of paintball markers?

I’m just starting out and i have done quite a bit of research. I’ve seen the spyder and the tippman brands but what brand is best?

If you want the best brands, then bob long, proto, or smart parts is the best of the line, but if you are like most people, you arent willing to pay over 300 or 500 bucks to get a gun, and then have to spend 100 more on the tank.

So like you said, i would recommend either the spyder, or the tippmann.

1st: the tippmann

This is a GREAT starter gun, so please dont get me wrong, but this the 98 customs are very old- back in 98, and they are outdated, like if you want to take it apart, you have to take the gun, unscrew it, and take it apart into 2 halves. So even though this is a great starter gun, i would recommend the spyder over this.
What ever anyone says, dont get the Tippmann A-5, or the X-7, at around 200-300 bucks, not including the gear, this gun is really for rec players only.

The spyder is one of the best starter guns you can get. They have LOTS of models, compared to the tippmann’s 4, and they are easy to clean, field strip, and put back together, They also have electrical triggers, and dont use your precious CO2 like the response trigger from tippmann. They are also VERY CUSTOMIZABLE, and you can soupe your up to fit you.

All in all, spyders are in my opinion, more reliable, and faster, but its up to you.

BEFORE YOU BUY IT! please go to pbreview, click on low end mechanical, or electric, and it will bring you to a page with reviews ratings, and more about the gun you are looking at.

I hope this helps.

tippmann 98 custom for an affordable paintaball bun. You can upgrade this and its not very expensive. The tippmann
A-5 is a good one to but its pretty expensive. Stay away from spyder. They are known to break down. Last time i played 5 people had tippmann 98′s and 6 others had spyder’s(various models), all the tippmann’s were fine and ready to play, but 4 people with the spyder’s had problems had problems and they had to field strip them, clean them out, and replace parts.

Go with a tippmann over a spyder. I much prefer tippmanns, and even know Ive personally never had an issue with spyder guns I still prefer the reliability of a Tippmann. For a beginner the 98custom is the best, but if you can afford one, go with the A-5.
