Regarding Paintball markers. Is there an alternative to CO2 for propellant?

by lindaranch1973 on May 6, 2010

Is it possible to buy a system that allows me to refill canisters with compressed air from my home air compressor rather than paying to have CO2 cartridges recharged? Seems like it would be alot more cost effective and convenient. If not, why?

Yes such devices exist. I used to have a paintball coach that would fill his tank with his scuba tank. You can use nitrogen or High Compressed air. Look at my source. Good luck- I know paintball can be expensive (I used to play on a competitive team!).

yes there is an alternate to CO2. 3000psi or 4500psi high pressure air (or nitrogen). these are available as screw on tanks with asa just like your CO2 tank or may require a different mounting system. these all have regulators that lower the pressure to approximately that of a CO2 tank
