lax22god October 7, 2009 at 11:07 pm

the ion sucks ass i dont think you know what you’re talking about…id rather play with that a5 from the vid in xball than the ion….its all about BOB LONG!!!!!!!!

johnroneill October 16, 2009 at 3:54 pm

yea…no maybe they’ll shoot faster but not in reliability. then all you got to do is put on an e-grip and a vortex mod which ,if you get the cheapest one you can find, will cost aout another $110. then you can shoot close to just as fast.i shoot it at 20 bps.

uberscarbs October 16, 2009 at 4:07 pm

i know ion’s are some of the worst guns on the market, i was referring more to guns like the slg as being better

uberscarbs October 16, 2009 at 4:09 pm

you can match the speed with an a-5 but you cant match the accuracy, consistency, or air efficiency of many of its competitors.

johnroneill October 16, 2009 at 4:58 pm

yes you can. give it a $20 barrel upgrade and its consistant and accurate. and its actually more air efficient than most people think the cyclone cycles on left over air.

uberscarbs October 16, 2009 at 8:02 pm

no barrel can fix velocity inconsistency which is a major cause of inaccuracy. and with the a-5, cycling the bolt and firing the ball uses more air than that of other guns never mind the bad hopper they put on it. an a-5 will get a few hundred shots off a 68/4500 tank, an invert mini will get over a thousand. the mini will also do it faster, smoother, more accurately, and more quietly than the a-5, and you can put a decent hopper on it unlike the cyclone.

johnroneill October 16, 2009 at 9:56 pm

theyre just as consistant as any other gun on air depending on what kind of gas your using. y the fuck is the cyclone not a “decent” hopper

lax22god October 23, 2009 at 12:24 am

uberscarbs who were you just talking to? but the stock ion sucks ass but if you upgrade everything like paintballer653 said it can be a pretty bad ass mutherfucker if i had the money to totally rebuild an ion i would do it but just to play with a stock ion id kill myself….

uberscarbs October 28, 2009 at 8:11 pm

it will still chop more paint than it shoots and your accuracy will be ruined

uberscarbs October 28, 2009 at 8:19 pm

many of the people who rebuild ions end up paying about the same price as a stock etek or a more expensive gun, and usually end up with something with about the same performance as a mini or a G3 (around $300 each). unless your just really into upgrades and thats your thing it just doesn’t make sense for the average paintballer to do that

lax22god November 2, 2009 at 1:20 am

yeah and after all those up grades they end up shooting the same or better thats why they put those upgrades in it but it depends on who built the gun if some idiot (like some of these people here) will kill the gun cause they dont know what they are doing but if a good job is done in the end its the same as a high end marker…dude learn your shit

Ready2Run1 November 23, 2009 at 6:01 pm

do flatline barrels shoot farther than a 22 inch sniper barrel? if so, what makes them shoot so far?

canadapunkrock December 2, 2009 at 11:28 am

the flatline will shoot father than a 22 inch barrel how the barrel is bent and sand blasted in side so when the ball going in the barrel will start to spin and its a back spin so the ball is spining upward gives u a father shot i have one and like it

canadapunkrock December 2, 2009 at 11:29 am

thats why u need a faster hopper to feed it

canadapunkrock December 2, 2009 at 11:31 am

all u need is a sp1 blackheart with a apex great set up

uberscarbs December 2, 2009 at 5:26 pm

@canadapunkrock you cant put a faster hopper on an a-5 unless you mod it, otherwise your stuck with the cyclone

randomtricksvideos December 16, 2009 at 9:38 pm

they are curved, so it makes the ball spin like a rifled barrel. THEY WORK VERY WELL

monkey93222 January 26, 2010 at 8:28 am

Why the hell would you put a expandable stock on a paintball gun? This isn’t airshit, it isn’t meant to look like a real rifle. Just looks like overkill and a waste of money to me.

nevets10203 February 5, 2010 at 12:02 pm

its not i have one on my 98 custom and it helps to stable the marker and reduced recoil whitch greatly adds to comfort and more inportatly accuracy

nevets10203 February 5, 2010 at 12:12 pm

yea dont get an ion. i got a brand new smart parts epiphany off ebay (never buy a used gun off ebay i bought it from an ebay store) with a hoper and air tank for the same price an ion with a couple upgrades and its the best gun ive ever used the only problems ive had is when water froze on the eyes and it couldnt see the paintball but other than that a great gun for 250 and i have no upgrades on it.however i am planing on adding a qlock feed neck, a longer barrel, laser eyes, and the new l7 bolt

hiwutsup1996 February 23, 2010 at 9:45 pm

or virute like i have it shreds
