Sooo, I’ve heard that if a person walks and holds up a sheet, infrared doesn’t detect them. What does this use to sense movement? And if you dunno if it works, you should post a vid of you experimenting with a sheet
@GickySama it doesn’t use IR. it’s based off of motion. the sheet would make you stand out more in this case.
It doesn’t know what to fire at, it fires at anything that moves.
I imagine a game of capture the flag, and 4 of these secretly hidden around yours. Nobody would be taking that flag!

Sweet! I was laughing at the trampoline test when someone brought up the IR idea, so I just wanted to double check. I like this. Why haven’t you patented and sold it yet? Imagine- mass producing a fairly affordable, easy to set up– and very aggressive
– home protection sentry. Even better if home security companies could get involved with this device

Right, but with a sheet, the motion (changes in the visual field) would be at the leading edge of the sheet. If you’re not there, but are at the centre of the sheet, it’ll miss, will it not?
@ianeiloart that’s how a typical detector works. this one is heavily modified. a colored rectangle moving across its field of view would be an easier target than a normal person
@243rf34ew Yep, I’m sure the rectangle would be an easy target, the question is which part? If the person knows which part of a 6ft square rectangle would be targetted, they can hide behind another part of the rectangle. If the sentry can’t see the person, it can’t target them.
@ianeiloart it targets the center of any moving object. if the entire sheet is visible it will therefore target the center of it. i can’t explain it any simpler than that.
