How To Choose Paintball Guns

Having a good idea in choosing paintball guns is very important, especially if you are just new to the sport. Choosing the right paintball gun can be challenging, so it is better to have a few things in mind. Just like purchasing anything else, there are standard questions that you need to ask when you buy a paintball gun.

Below are some details that you should know about what to ask and how important these questions are. Make sure you ask the following questions before you buy your paintball gun and have accurate answers for each.

• Who are you buying for?

Always keep in mind who you are buying the paintball gun for. Are you buying it for yourself? Is it for your son or daughter? Are you a beginner?

Young and amateur players will be better off with a paintball gun that is not that expensive but is highly reliable. Inexperienced players may not have the knowledge yet to do the necessary repairs if their gun encounters a problem.

A cheap gun is a waste of money, but an expensive one is a risk. It is pointless to spend $500 on a paintball gun only to find out that they do not, after all, like the game “that much”.

• What position do you play?

There are different styles of play and many different setups for a paintball gun. Will your position and style need an electronic trigger and loader to increase the rate of fire?

Or you the type of player who likes to spend most of your time waiting for the perfect shot? There are a lot of paintball guns that are designed for particular styles and positions.

These guns however are more expensive since they come with the necessary upgrades for the look and function of the style. If you do not have a flexible budget, just keep your style in mind and ask for possible upgrades that you can do.

• What air source should the paintball gun require?

Anyone new to the world of paintball finds this question very confusing. Paintball guns are operated on either CO2 or High Pressure Air (HPA). The former is the more common choice and most paintball guns sold in the market will operate on CO2. However, there are some guns that require HPA to run properly (knowing this is very important).

If your gun was originally manufactured specifically to run on HPA, it will still fire on CO2 but could possibly damage paintball gun and void the manufacturer’s warranty. So be sure that you double check the product description. It is also very important that you read the gun manual before buying anything.
